Apple-Inspired Articulate Storyline Template
This week’s Articulate Community Challenge was to create an interactive organizational chart. Being that I’m such a big fan of Apple, it only made sense that I complete this challenge by building an interactive display of Apple’s leadership team.
Here’s a brief overview of what I created for this challenge and my thought process behind it.
The Design
I’ve always been a big fan of Apple – I love their products, their culture, their design and their philosophies. In fact, I love Apple so much, I even worked at an Apple Store for a short period of time!
In a previous post, I discussed how Apple’s new iOS7 had employed a “flatter” design aesthetic to its user interface. With this particular challenge and my decision to showcase Apple’s leadership team, I knew that my design had to take priority over everything else so that it would live-up to Apple’s exacting design standards. It only seemed natural to maintain a flat design with this example as well.
With this concept, I had two main design goals in mind: to use simple white lines to display the content and to create contrast with a blurry background.
As I was designing this template, I was surprised with how well the simplicity of the white lines took precedence over the blurry background. The contrast between these two elements really helped to bring focus to the images and content.
The Creation Process & Final Design
Before I show you the final design, take a look at this fun time-lapse video I recorded to demonstrate how I created this template.
Haha love it! if only we could work that fast in real time on all our projects!!
This was awesome! I’m currently working on building a portfolio of my instructional design work and this was quite inspiring!
