10 Free Stock Photo Sites for eLearning

It’s not always easy to find high-quality images for your eLearning when you’re working on a budget. If you can’t afford the popular stock photo sites, you might think your only option is to take your own photos. Luckily, that doesn’t have to be the case!

In recent years, there has been a huge surge of free stock photo sites that offer photos, vector graphics, and even videos! Many of these free stock photo sites make their photos available with the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. This means you can copy, modify, or distribute the images, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission or providing attribution!

Here are my top 10 free stock photo sites for eLearning, along with a few of my favorite finds!

My Favorite Images

Not all of the images you’ll find on these websites will work for your eLearning content, but if you look hard enough, you can find a lot of great images. Here’s a small sample of my favorite finds:

How to Use These Free Images

How you use these free stock photos in your eLearning depends on what you’re trying to create. You may not always find what you need if you are looking for specific image such as customer service rep with a headset who is visibly worried, but free sites are great for more general images, such as background photos. Here’s a great example showing how I combined a free stock photo with some content to create a completed slide design.
