How to Remove the Background from an Image in PowerPoint
When you need to remove the background from an image, your first thought might be to open Adobe Photoshop. That makes complete sense, right? Photoshop has been used for years to remove the backgrounds from images and other common photo editing tasks. However, what do you do when you don’t know how to use Adobe Photoshop; or worse, you don’t even have access to Adobe Photoshop?
Well, here’s some good news! Did you know you can remove the background from an image in PowerPoint? It’s true! For years, PowerPoint has included the ability to quickly and easily remove the background from an image. Check out my how-to video below and learn how to remove the background from an image in PowerPoint!
I have always used PS for this. I had no idea that there was any other way. Pretty slick, thanks for the tip.
Yep! It’s pretty nifty! Thanks for reading and commenting!
This is cool, but the feature is not available in ppt mac version.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Hi Judy. It depends on what version of PowerPoint for Mac you’re using. Any version that is 2011 or newer does include the remove background feature. Here’s the Microsoft article on it. I hope this helps!
Hi Tim
thanks for sharing these tips. Just a question, do you find with ‘set transparent colour’ option that it sometimes leaves a slight haze around the image and how would you fix that?
Hi, Wendy! Yes, the set transparent color usually leaves that slight haze you’re referring to. Because of that, I typically use the Remove Background option instead.
Nice one.
Thanks!
So cool. If only I had a dollar for each time I needed this tip and had no clue how to go about it! Thanks so much! 🙂
Thanks, Suneyra!
