Check Out These 5 Killer Features of The eLearning Designer’s Academy

I created The eLearning Designer’s Academy to help new eLearning designers become better at what they do: designing amazing eLearning content.

Whether you’re looking to understand the basics of the eLearning development process or you’re looking to learn how to use Articulate Storyline; I’ve created a growing library of courses, which you can use to develop your skills, grow your career, and of course, create better eLearning content.

Once you enroll in a course from The eLearning Designer’s Academy, you’ll discover that each of my courses are jam-packed with practical tips, practice files, and resources that you can apply immediately to your next eLearning project. With hours of helpful video and text-based content, my online courses are 100% self-paced and mobile-ready.

In this post, I wanted to share some of the amazing features I’ve packed into The eLearning Designer’s Academy. Enjoy!

Explainer Videos & Tutorials

When creating The eLearning Designer’s Academy, it was important for me to make the content as engaging as possible. With each of the three courses I’m initially launching, I was very intentional about incorporating as much video content as possible.

While my Getting Started with The eLearning Development Process course includes a mixture of video and text-based content, both my Getting Started with Articulate Storyline and Building Advanced Interactions with Articulate Storyline are 100% video-based.

In fact, between the two Articulate Storyline courses, they include 13+ hours of instructional content, spread over 130+ videos! That’s a lot of videos!

Practice Files & Hands-On Activities

In addition to incorporating a lot of video-based content, it was also important to me that the courses were as interactive and hands-on as possible. And that’s why, specifically with my Articulate Storyline online courses, I’ve provided practice files and hands-on activities, which are used to demonstrate and practice building a sample eLearning course from scratch.

The truth is, it’s really hard to learn how to use Articulate Storyline hypothetically. While I could easily teach you the concepts of using variables in Storyline, it wouldn’t prepare you for using them in your own eLearning courses.

So, rather than just showing you how each of the features work within Storyline, each chapter ends with a “Put It Into Practice” lesson, where you’ll actually use the features with practical examples.

Downloadable Resouces & Templates

In addition to the video-based content and practice files that I’ve incorporated into my online courses, I’ve also added several downloadable resources and templates, which you can use back on the job.

For example, with my Getting Started with The eLearning Development Process online course, I explain how to develop an eLearning project plan, timeline, and storyboard. In addition to seeing several examples of what these items look like, I also provide templates that you can download and use for your future eLearning projects.

Additionally, I’ve also included several links to outside resources, which you can use to continue your professional development.

Discussion Boards

Along with making my online courses interactive and hands-on, I’ve also incorporated discussion boards into each lesson. With these discussion boards, you’ll have a direct line to ask me any questions you have along the way. Whether you’re struggling with how to create triggers in Storyline, or you need help understanding the difference between a stakeholder and subject matter expert, you can post a question or comment, and I’ll be able to respond and provide assistance.

Additionally, you’ll be able to use the discussion boards to connect and interact with other students who are taking the same course. This is great if you want to share an idea or pose a question to a larger group.

Completion Certificates

Finally, each of my courses on The eLearning Designer’s Academy includes completion certificates. After you’ve completed a course, you’ll be issued a personalized certificate, which you can then print or save as a digital copy. You’ll also be able to add your certificate to your LinkedIn profile for others to see.

Finally, when you complete a course, your certificate will be issued and validated through Accredible, which is used by other leading companies, like Google, Rosetta Stone, Kaplan University, and others to offer certificates to their students.
